C.H. Robinson Worldwide acquires Transera International

On August 4, 2008, C.H. Robinson Worldwide, Inc. (Nasdaq:CHRW), one of the world's largest third party logistics providers of transportation and supply chain services, announced that it had acquired certain operating subsidiaries of Transera International Holdings Ltd., a project forwarding company headquartered in Calgary, Canada. Transera is one of the largest privately owned project forwarders in North America, with annual gross revenues of approximately $125 million. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

C.H. Robinson Worldwide was advised in this transaction by Fasken Martineau with a team that included Douglas New (competition/foreign investment), Stephen Kerr and Daye Kaba (corporate), Peggy McCallum (pensions), Donna Gallant (employment) and Mitchell Thaw (tax), with the assistance of paralegal Marvin Mikhail.
