Claude Gendron

Claude Gendron's fields of specialization are financing and real estate. Having started his career with a Canadian bank, his main clients are banks, pension funds, and major real estate developers and investors.

In real estate matters, he was involved in many major real estate transactions in downtown Montréal, such as the sale and acquisition of the Stock Exchange Tower, Place Bonaventure, the Multimedia City, the 1000 De La Gauchetière, Westmount Square, the Windsor, the 1200 McGill College and Place Air Canada. He also participated in several sales and acquisitions of industrial and commercial property portfolios, and played an active role in the development and financing of numerous office, multi-residential and infrastructure projects, such as the Quartier 10/30 Life Style shopping centre, the 900 de Maisonneuve (under development), the Montréal Headquarters of Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, the Montréal International District, the Head Office of the FTQ and the Uniprix Tennis Stadium.

In the public-private partnership sector, Mr. Gendron is the lead external legal counsel to the Agence des partenariats public-privé of the Quebec Government for the realization of the new Centre hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal and the McGill University Health Centre; a more than $3 billion project currently under development.

Mr. Gendron also participated in many important national and cross-border financings, either for lenders or borrowers, namely to Bombardier, Cirque du Soleil, Air Canada, Quebecor World, the Yellow Pages Group and SITQ (Caisse de dépôt).
