Norm Trerise is a senior litigator in our labour and employment group. He regularly appears in court and before administrative tribunals with regard to a wide range of matters including wrongful dismissal actions, Labour Relations Board applications and grievances heard before arbitration boards. Norm also provides advice regarding collective agreement administration.
Norm is a member of our Privacy and Information Protection Practice Group and has abundant experience with Freedom of Information matters as well as private sector privacy law. As Lead Counsel, Norm prevailed on behalf of our client in Eastmond v. Canadian Pacific Railway, 2004 FC 852, cited by the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as a ''germinal decision'' of Canadian privacy jurisprudence.
Norm practices extensively in the area of Occupational Health and Safety and appears before the Worker's Compensation Board on behalf of his clients. He represents clients before the provincial court and at inquests on Occupational Health and Safety related matters. LEXPERT has recognized Norm as a significant practitioner in occupational health and safety matters.
