Ron Ezekiel is a partner with the Energy, Environmental and Regulatory Practice Group. His practice focuses on regulatory compliance issues and business transactions for industrial, mining and resource companies, independent power producers, and energy utilities. Ron's mix of business law experience and industry knowledge, together with an ability to provide timely and practical advice, make him an ideal selection for counsel on project development work.
Ron has extensive expertise with permitting issues, including environmental assessments, fisheries authorizations, crown tenures, water licenses and impact benefit agreements with First Nations. He regularly acts for clients on joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, and project finance work. Ron has comprehensive knowledge of the electrical industry, including matters relating transmission tariffs, generator interconnections, Canadian energy markets and regional transmission organizations. A regular part of Ron's practice involves climate change related issues, including public policy analysis and emissions trading work. His practice also covers other environmental issues, including transportation of dangerous goods, contaminated sites, product stewardship and mine reclamation.
