Skye Resources and HudBay Minerals announce proposed $460 million business combination

On June 23, 2008, HudBay Minerals Inc. (TSX:HBM) and Skye Resources Inc. (TSX:SKR) announced they had entered into a definitive agreement to combine their respective businesses. Skye's principal asset is the world class Fenix Nickel Project in Guatemala, which includes 41.4 million tonnes of reserves. The Transaction is expected to close by late August 2008.
The Transaction will be structured as a Plan of Arrangement under the Business Corporations Act (British Columbia) between HudBay and Skye.
