Anita Huntley is a partner in the firm's Toronto office. Anita is engaged in a broad corporate/commercial practice with particular emphasis on technology companies and users, including public companies, start-ups, governments and hospitals and other healthcare providers. Anita is frequently involved in acquisitions, reorganizations, joint ventures and procurement processes both in and out of the technology sector and has substantial expertise in the negotiation of a wide variety of commercial arrangements. A significant part of Anita's practice is spent with clients in the health, pharmaceutical, biotechnology and life sciences sectors and she is currently pursuing a part-time LL.M. in biotechnology law and bioethics at the University of Toronto.
Anita is the co-author of E-Commerce: Corporate-Commercial Aspects (LexisNexis Canada Inc.), a book that has been described by the Canadian Legal LEXPERT Directory as an important work in the area of computer and IT law. Anita currently serves on the Executive and Board of Directors of the Canadian IT Law Association (IT.Can) and on the Ontario Cancer Research Ethics Board (OCREB). Anita speaks regularly in the areas of technology law, procurement and ethics. She has instructed post-graduate engineers in legal issues relating to technology at the University of Toronto, and lectured nationally and internationally on corporate governance issues facing the life sciences sector.
