Blue Diamond acquires three more garden centres

On April 4, 2008, Guernsey-based Blue Diamond, Ltd. acquired three profitable garden centres from Garden Centres of Excellence. Blue Diamond purchased the freeholds of two centres, located in Derby and Matlock, and secured a management agreement on a third, at Chatsworth. The deal takes Blue Diamond’s total garden centre operations to twelve. It is estimated that as a result of these acquisitions the company’s annual turnover will increase from £33 million to £41 million, making them the third largest garden centre group in the UK.
Fasken Martineau Stringer Saul advised Blue Diamond in these acquisitions with a team led by Roger Loosley and including, among others, David Connick, Paul Yerbury, Brendan Gallen, Jennifer Seedat and Fiona Wheatley.
