Cécile Chevalier has accumulated more than 10 years of experience in information and communication technologies. Before joining Fasken Martineau, she began her career with an R&D company specializing in artificial vision and subsequently spent a number of years with a renowned Montréal firm specializing in intellectual property.
A graduate of a French engineering school in engineering physics and instrumentation who also holds a post-graduate diploma in integrated electronic devices as well as a Diplôme Universitaire de Technologie (university diploma of technology) in electrical engineering and industrial information technology, Cécile Chevalier is a technical advisor with the Technology and Intellectual Property Practice Group and is completing her training as a patent agent.
She works principally in the drafting and prosecution of patent applications, whether in Canada, the United States, Europe, by international PCT (Patent Cooperation Treaty), and in other countries.
She also prepares applications for registration of industrial designs both in Canada and in foreign countries, and is regularly called upon to advise her clients in the preparation of patentability, infringement, validity and freedom to operate opinions.
Ms. Chevalier is particularly interested in cutting-edge technologies and offers her clients state-of-the-art expertise in such areas as electricity, electronics, telecommunications, computer science, physics, optics and optical electronics as well as instrumentation, including medical instrumentation.
