Counsel
Chuck Higgins provides counsel on commercial and financial matters to a number of national and international mining and energy companies and investment dealers. Chuck has considerable experience with joint ventures, acquisitions and capital and debt transactions involving resource businesses. Chuck also worked for the Federal Department of Energy, Mines and Resources as a Senior Economist. He is the past chair, from 1993 to 1995, of the Natural Resources and Energy Section of the Canadian Bar Association and he has been recognized for his expertise in mining by The International Who's Who of Business Lawyers each year from 2001, and by Lexpert in both the mining and oil & gas areas.
Chuck articled and worked as an associate in the Calgary office of Macleod Dixon LLP from 1982 to 1986, then moved to the Toronto office of Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP. Chuck rejoined Macleod Dixon LLP in 1994 as the founding partner of that firm's Toronto office. He joined Fasken Martineau in 2001.
