Christian Leblanc

Christian Leblanc, member of the Communications Practice Group group, will be speaking at the conference on communications and media relations to place in Montréal on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, November 7, 8 and 9, 2007.

Mtre Leblanc (7/11/2007:11:00 a.m.) will be addressing the ever-shorter life cycle of information, specifically as it relates to identifying and knowing how to manage the resulting legal risks so as to be better prepared in case of disputes involving the media.

  • Misinformation and reduced reaction time: How to avoid negative consequences and media blunders
  • Learn ways to react, defend yourself and bounce back from the dissemination of information that is misunderstood or erroneous
  • Learn to deal with legal obligations when you are subject to strict regulations and the obligation on disseminating complete and accurate information to all recipients
  • Grasping the dangers of new media: can and must we take action when false or disadvantageous information has been disseminated?

A practical workshop will be held on November 9 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on "polishing informative writing skills for high-impact press releases that grab media attention."

The following points will be tackled during this session:

  • Up-to-date approaches for sure-fire ways to draw media attention and increase your chances of success
  • Integration of new media into traditional communication strategies for optimum information promotion
  • Evolution of media relations: how to maximize your success by establishing a two-way relationship that is built on trust and is constructive in the long run

  • Legal implications of media relations: identifying the risks so as to be better prepared
