Doug practises mergers and acquisitions and all aspects of commercial law with a particular emphasis on company
acquisitions and dispositions, private equity transactions, joint ventures and corporate reorganizations.

Doug has many years of experience in structuring, negotiating and implementing a wide variety of mergers and
acquisitions transactions involving domestic and foreign acquirors and vendors, both public and private. Doug is
often called upon to lead large transaction teams composed of numerous levels of professional advisors. As team
leader, Doug co-ordinates the legal, regulatory and Canadian tax aspects of those transactions from the early
planning stages to successful completion.

A significant portion of Doug's practice involves advising foreign clients on establishing or acquiring businesses in
Canada. Doug is actively involved on an ongoing basis in the acquisition programs of many North American public
companies.

Doug also provides advice to both public and private companies on a wide range of corporate and commercial law
matters in many industries, including those in the technology, resource, real estate and manufacturing sectors.
