Jon Conlin is one of Vancouver’s top venture capital and emerging technology lawyers. As the National Co-Lead of Fasken’s Emerging Technology & Venture Capital Group, Jon advises high-growth technology companies, founders, and venture capital funds on complex transactions across Canada’s innovation economy. He is also a key member of the firm’s Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity Groups.
Jon’s practice focuses on early-stage and venture capital financing, M&A, strategic investments, private equity transactions, and corporate governance. He regularly counsels founders, CEOs, boards of directors, and special committees on governance and strategic matters. With extensive experience leading transactions worth billions of dollars, including the 2023 Canadian Mid-Market Deal of the Year, Jon is a trusted advisor to companies from startup to exit.
In addition to his legal practice, Jon is deeply involved in the tech ecosystem. Jon currently serves as a director and officer on multiple venture-backed technology companies.
Jon co-founded Walter, a legal AI company, which was acquired by Legora in March 2026.
He also partners with several industry organizations, including VEF and CDL, to support innovation in British Columbia.
