Fasken Martineau Continues to Grow: Firm Rings in Year With Four New Lawyers

Claude Auger, director of Fasken Martineau's Montréal and Québec City offices, is pleased to announce the arrival of four new lawyers. "We are very proud to be able to attract such quality resources. These individuals are national, even international, assets," declared Mr. Auger.

Mtre Patrice Vachon has been practicing law for over 25 years, and has considerable expertise in mergers and acquisitions, private-sector funding, venture capital equity participations as well as corporate, estate and tax reorganizations. He is regularly called upon to work in franchising and forming corporations, consortiums and joint ventures, and he excels in resolving shareholder disputes and heated negotiations. He has played a key role in the success of many commercial transactions and other large-scale mandates, and carried out countless mergers, acquisitions and business sales of all sizes in a number of areas.

He is also an expert in private financings, acting on behalf of businesses, institutions as well as Canadian and foreign investment funds.

Mr. Vachon frequently intervenes in shareholder disputes and has developed expertise in establishing subsidiaries in China and joint ventures with Chinese companies.

In addition to being a popular speaker, he has authored many articles and works on various aspects of business, finances, business valuations and the Civil Code of Québec. He has written a monograph of over 1,200 pages entitled La vente d'entreprise - acquisitions et ventes d'entreprises, which is regularly consulted and cited by his peers.

Mtre Louis-Martin Dubé practices commercial real estate law and possesses vast expertise in acquisitions, development and financing. Mtre Dubé has practiced in reputable Montréal law firms and worked almost 10 years for Sun Life of Canada's legal department.

Louis-Martin Dubé lectures regularly on current real estate topics at conferences organized by the Canadian Bar Association. He is a past president of the Canadian Bar Association's Real Property Section (Québec Division) and a member of the Québec Bar Committee on Secured Transactions.

Mtre Pierre-Olivier Charlebois completed his master's degree in environmental law at Université Laval and joined the Energy, Environmental, Climate Change and Regulatory Practice Group.

He worked as a research assistant at the Institut des Hautes Études International and Université Laval's Canada Research Chair in Environmental Law, and was a legal researcher for Unisféra's International Centre of Expertise on Sustainable Development (2007) and the Centre québécois du droit de l'environnement.

Mtre Fadi Haddadin joined the firm as an articling student. A doctor of civil law, Mr. Haddadin worked for Pfizer Canada as a legal advisor and acted as a consultant for Rights & Democracy (The International Center for Human Rights and Democratic Development).
