Adrian Jones is a Partner at Fasken Martineau LLP focusing on international arbitration in the oil & gas, mining, construction and financial services sectors.
Adrian has particular experience with high value and complex international arbitration cases, both under institutional rules and ad hoc. He represents clients in arbitrations under the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce, the London Court of International Arbitration and UNCITRAL. He has recently handled cases in the energy and financial services and has been involved in a number of shareholder's disputes. Adrian also conducts complex multi-jurisdictional litigation in the Commercial Court. He is admitted to appear before all Courts in England and Wales.
Adrian has acted for Russian/CIS and Middle Eastern entities in matters involving sums up to and in excess of US$2billion. In the oil & gas sector he acts for both national and international oil companies in connection with cases involving the interpretation or renegotiation of long-term contracts. Adrian also has experience representing investors in matters involving the Bilateral Investment Treaties.
In the financial services sector Adrian regularly represents banks, has been involved in a number of shareholder disputes and has acted in a number of high value cases involving hedge funds. Adrian has also represented major financial institutions in connection with multi-jurisdictional regulatory investigations and advised in connection with proceedings before the Financial Services and Markets Tribunal.
Prior to joining Fasken Martineau Adrian was at Dewey & LeBoeuf, an international U.S. law firm. Previously he spent a year with the Financial Services Authority advising on regulatory disputes.
