Andrew Nunes is a partner in the Business Law Department and Vice Chair of the Technology Law Group in the Toronto office. He is engaged in a broad corporate/commercial practice, including asset and share acquisitions, reorganizations, joint ventures, strategic alliances, debt and equity financings, refinancings, business process outsourcings and customer/supplier arrangements in a broad range of industries. He also advises on business formations, corporate governance and compliance issues for large and small business. Andrew acts for a wide range of clients from blue-chip corporations to leading-edge technology companies, including a number of U.S. clients engaged in cross-border transactions.

Andrew’s practice includes a particular focus on information technology matters. He has strong expertise in buying and selling technology businesses and complex technology outsourcing arrangements. He also regularly advises clients on a wide range of issues and agreements relating to the development, protection and exploitation of technology products and services, such as development, implementation, consulting, acquisition, licensing, distribution, maintenance and support, hosting, escrow, internet and e-commerce, open source software, anti-spam, cloud computing, data protection, social media and cyber security.

Andrew is a regular author and a frequent speaker on technology and commercial law topics. He is also on the Editorial Board for The Canadian Institute IT Law & Technology Transactions Review. Andrew is a past Chair of the Ontario Bar Association IT and E-Commerce Section and a prior member of the OBA Council. He also currently sits on the Board of Directors of TechConnex (formerly the York Technology Alliance). Andrew has been recognized internationally and locally as a leading lawyer in Canada for Information Technology Law and by Lexpert as a "Rising Star", a Corporate Lawyer to Watch and a repeatedly recommended lawyer for Technology Transactions.
