On March 25, 2010, the Supreme Court of British Columbia pronounced an Initial Order under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act on the Petitioner of HSBC Bank Canada. HSBC Bank Canada is Bear Mountain's largest lender and is owed in excess of $250 million. Total indebtedness is approximately $350 million.

Bear Mountain Golf Resort and Properties is a golf course resort/residential development located near Victoria, British Columbia. The development has proceeded over a number of years and includes two Nicklaus-designed golf courses, a Westin Hotel, several condominium structures, a shopping and commercial area, and 5000 existing or pending residential buildings and strata lots.
