The Brilliant Expansion project consists of the construction of a new power generation facility adjacent to the existing Brilliant dam on the Kootenay River. The expansion, valued at $150 milion, will have capacity of 120 megawatts, generating approximately 500 gigawatt-hours of energy annually.

The construction and operation of the project will be undertaken by Brilliant Expansion Power Corporation, a corporation jointly owned by Columbia Power Corporation and CBT Brilliant Expansion Power Corp. Columbia Power Corporation is the manager of the jointly owned corporation.

Fasken Martineau was involved in the preparation of process documents, RFPs, proposal competition agreements and design-build contracts, plus related engineering and other contracts and both the bonding and insurance requirements.
