Claudia is a senior associate with a broad corporate/commercial practice. Her areas of expertise include mergers & acquisitions, corporate and financial restructuring, and international trade and investment law. She also provides strategic advice on government and institutional relations and evolving domestic and international standards in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility related to investment, disclosure, accountability and bribery and corruption. She is currently co-chair of the Corporate Social Responsibility Group.
Before articling with Fasken Martineau, Claudia received her LLB from Queen's University.
Since joining the firm, Claudia has taken two study leaves, during which she earned an LLM in Constitutional and European Union law from the London School of Economics and a doctorate in law from Columbia University in New York City.
In connection with her academic work at Columbia University, Claudia was awarded a fellowship by the Social Science and Humanities Research Council of Canada to explore the relationship between politics and law in the World Trade Organisation. Claudia's PhD focuses on issues relating to the legitimacy and the binding nature of obligations under the WTO, and the proper form of dispute resolution through various remedies.
