CBA Corporate Counsel Section
January 20, 2009
Vancouver, BC, Canada
Event participants:
David Wotherspoon
David Wotherspoon's talk will lay out and answer the questions in-house counsel should ask about the risks and benefits of social networking sites in the workplace. David will address the topic in six steps.
He'll define what social networking is, how it impacts in-house counsel, and the advantages and disadvantages of social network sites in the workplace. Then he will outline what questions in-house counsel should ask to deal with the particular issues of their own company. Finally, he'll run through examples of social networking guidelines provided by some of the actual seminar attendees, as well as the guidelines used by IBM and a number of other companies.
Immediately after registering for the talk, attendees will be invited to join the seminar's Facebook Group page, where they can start discussing the good, the bad and the ugly social networking incidents of the last year as recorded by Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.
