Partner
Diane Bertrand primarily practices business law, more particularly in mergers, acquisitions and sales of private companies and business assets. She has represented many manufacturing and service companies selling or purchasing businesses, including a number of foreign investors. She has also acted in such transactions, as well as in the area of debt and equity financing, on behalf of institutional investors. Regularly responsible of coordinating large teams of professionals, she has also implemented complex corporate restructurings, often in many jurisdictions simultaneously. Diane has been the regular corporate counsel of clients of the firm for many years, which has enabled her to develop a strong grasp of the commercial challenges that businesses face on a daily basis as well as a good understanding of how cooperatives operate.
Diane was assigned to the firm's London office for several months and also worked on behalf of Fasken Martineau for an investment fund, experiences that offered her the opportunity to close real estate transactions in foreign jurisdictions, such as the purchase of real estate and the acquisition of interests in investment funds. This has given her a thorough understanding of the internal legal challenges and needs of our clients.
Diane is regularly involved within the firm on issues relating to the impact of recent legislative changes on the practice of our corporate and commercial law group.
