Edmond Lamek's practice focuses on advising in respect of all types of Canadian and cross-border insolvency and restructuring proceedings and transactions, including advising secured and unsecured creditors, DIP lenders, debtors, suppliers, boards of directors, purchasers, receivers, interim receivers, Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act ("CCAA") monitors, bankruptcy trustees and Chapter 11 creditors' committees.

In 2004, Edmond was chosen as one of the "Top 40-40 and under 40" lawyers in Canada by Lexpert Magazine. In 2000, Edmond was selected by the Global Insolvency and Restructuring Review magazine as one of the leading "40 Under 40" insolvency professionals in the world. Edmond is recognized in the Lexpert directory of leading Canadian lawyers as "Most Frequently Recommended" in the field of insolvency litigation. Since 2009 Edmond has been endorsed by Practical Law Company Which Lawyer? in the areas of restructuring and insolvency. He is also recognized in both Chambers Global Guide to the World's Leading Lawyers and Woodward White Best Lawyers in Canada in the same fields. In 2007 Edmond was invited to join the Insolvency Institute of Canada.

Edmond has authored numerous published articles and papers on topics such as the rights of secured creditors, the claims of the Crown in insolvency, cross-border insolvency issues, collection strategies for unsecured creditors, protecting landlords' claims in insolvency, the rights of unpaid suppliers under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act ("BIA") and using the CCAA as a liquidation tool.

Edmond has presented papers at numerous meetings of the Canadian Bar Association and the Canadian Insolvency Practitioners Association and has spoken to groups of financial professionals in association with a variety of continuing educational services (e.g. Canadian Institute, Osgoode Professional Development).

Edmond joined the firm as an associate in 1992 and became a partner in 1998.
