Our Montréal and Paris offices advised the Canadian telecommunications and media giant Québecor Media on its signing of a strategic partnership with the France- and Québec-based Readbooks, a group that specializes in supplying multi-language digital bookstores. Under this partnership, Québecor Media will be acquiring a minority interest in ReadBooks SAS.
Québecor Media is a subsidiary of Québecor Inc., one of Canada’s largest telecommunications and media management companies. With over 16,000 employees, Québecor Media is active in cable television, interactive multimedia development, Internet access services, telephony, newspaper, magazine and book editing, as well as the retail distribution and sale of a wide range of cultural products.
ReadBooks develops and implements online digital bookstore solutions for the users of tablets, e-ink readers, telephones and mobile smart tools; it offers millions of free and for-purchase books in a number of languages, and boasts users in over 50 countries.
