April 20, 2010

Employers often do not fully grasp the legal constraints that the duty of fair representation places on their employees' unions. The goal of this presentation is to help participants identify the actions that unions can take so as to limit, to the highest extent possible, the filing of worker complaints before the Commission des relations du travail.

• What is the scope of the duty of fair representation?
• If the Commission des relations du travail allows such a complaint, what orders can it issue?
• What impact can these orders have on employers?
