On December 28, 2001, affiliates of Global Pacific Properties Inc., a Hong Kong-based conglomerate, acquired the famous Ford Centre in Vancouver. Livent initially built the Centre for $27 million in 1995. However the Centre has been for sale by its secured creditors since Livent's failure in 1998. Fasken Martineau assisted the purchase in negotiating the acquisition agreement, the court approval of the sale and the creation of a new business structure involving Canadian, US and international entities. Four Brothers Entertainment Company is establishing a new business at the Centre with a view to revitalize Vancouver's performing arts offerings.

Four Brothers Entertainment Company was represented by Fasken Martineau lawyers Don Dalik (corporate), Edmond Luke (real estate), Jonathan Reitsma (real estate), Marcel Peerson (insolvency) and Frank Schober (tax), all of the Vancouver office.
