Thomas Copeland is a partner with Fasken Martineau in Montréal. Mr. Copeland practices in all areas of taxation law as well as in the area of general corporate law.
He has given conferences and published articles on various subjects including tax avoidance and tax evasion in Canada, the financing of and tax incentives for high technology companies, the taxation of electronic commerce and offshore tax planning.
Prior to joining Fasken Martineau, he was a professor of taxation at the Faculty of Law at the University of Montréal and co-director of the LLM taxation programme offered by the Faculty of Law of the Université de Montréal as well as the École des Hautes Études Commerciales. At Osgoode Hall Law School, Mr. Copeland focussed on the study of taxation in the context of electronic commerce.
