Gilles Carli has practiced mainly in tax law, corporate restructuring, cross-border transactions, corporate financing, trusts and tax planning for more than 30 years. He is actively involved in public transactions involving issue of shares, spin-offs and other form of reorganization both for corporate issuers and underwriters. He also participates in cases relating to the goods and services tax and the Québec provincial sales tax. Mr. Carli acts as counsel for public, private and Crown corporations.
After working as a consultant for the Taxation Policy Branch of the ministère des Finances and the Legislation Branch of the ministère du Revenu du Québec, he joined Fasken Martineau in 1982.
