The Ontario Hospital Association has proposed making hospitals subject to freedom of information legislation. The outcome of this proposal brings both opportunities and challenges to hospital management and boards, and raises more than a few questions on the implications of such a change. This joint session between Fasken Martineau and the Strategic Change Group discusses the potential implications of applying freedom of information legislation to hospitals and raises issues and mitigating strategies for hospital organizations to consider.
