Successfully defended this class action alleging that credit card issuers had not properly disclosed the interest rates charges on credit card transactions. The case comprised of two trial hearings and two full court of appeal hearings.
It was determined that no breach of the relevant lending legislation occurred when the Defendants' banks commenced charging interest from the transaction date for credit card purchases. The claim was dismissed on the merits in a summary trial application in advance of the certification hearing.
