Appeared as counsel with D.M.M. Goldie, Q.C. on behalf of the Canadian Arctic Gas consortium before the National Energy Board on the MacKenzie Valley gas pipeline hearings. The proposed pipeline was approximately 2,400 miles in length running from Prudhoe Bay on the Alaska North slope to the MacKenzie River down to and through the Province of Alberta into the lower 48 states. The proposed pipeline was the largest engineering project in the world at the time with a projected cost of several billion dollars.
