Jasmin Marcotte practises in the areas of labour and employment law: more specifically, he represents private and public sector employers who must comply with provincial and federal regulations. He frequently represents corporations from the industrial, manufacturing and hotel industries, food services as well as those in the education sector. Furthermore, he provides counsel on a regular basis to a financial institution with union employees. Jasmin provides legal advice on all issues concerning employment, including the negotiation of collective agreements, the application and interpretation of collective agreements, contracts of employment, labour standards and termination and severance arrangements. In his practice, he is often called upon to litigate before the courts. He appears regularly before specialized labour and employment law commissions, in particular before grievance adjudicators and the Labour Relations Board, in cases concerning certification proceedings, successor-employer proceedings and collective agreement grievances. Furthermore, he acts in cases of human rights, protection of personal information and pay equity.
Jasmin is a frequent speaker at numerous seminars on employment and labour law matters, particularly employment contracts, labour standards, termination and severance arrangements, psychological harassment, workplace absenteeism, and the application and interpretation of collective agreements.
