Jean-François Perreault practices tax law, and more specifically as it relates to corporate and commercial law. Furthermore, he has developed considerable expertise in corporate reorganizations and tax planning, with an emphasis on cross-border financing and investment, operation and acquisition structuring both in and outside Canada. His area of expertise also includes commodity tax matters, such as the Goods and Services Tax/Harmonized Sales Tax (GST/HST) and the Québec Sales Tax (QST).
Jean-François has been involved in mergers and acquisitions, public and private offerings, recapitalizations and corporate reorganizations. He has also participated in the development of public-private partnership structures concerning transportation, recreation, infrastructures and the health care sector, acting on behalf of private sector enterprises as well as public and para-public agencies.
He has also been involved in numerous litigious tax files, from both an income tax perspective and from a sales tax perspective, and he has acquired extensive experience dealing and negotiating with the Canadian tax authorities on behalf of his clients.
