Julia is an associate in the corporate and commercial group of the Ottawa office. Her practice focuses on providing effective solutions that fit the business realities of both small and large clients, across a variety of industries.
Julia’s practice encompasses commercial agreements and transactions. She has particular experience assisting small- and mid-size corporate clients through financings, changes of control, asset and share transactions. Julia has experience assisting clients with a range of contracts, including sales, services, SAS, teaming, NDAs, consumer, licensing, and employment.
Julia provides targetted analysis, risk assessment and advice to clients. She has experience providing advice on employment, corporate governance and regulatory compliance issues in a variety of contexts and industries, particularly to clients in the communications and technology industries.
Julia’s corporate-commercial practice builds upon her experience dealing with commercial disputes and regulatory issues at many different levels of court, including Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Federal Court and Supreme Court of Canada. Julia has contributed to successful Supreme Court of Canada challenges both as counsel and agent.
Julia also has a growing practice in trade law, including experience with public and private procurement disputes, anti-dumping and countervailing duties, and export control issues.
Before joining the Firm, Julia studied both common law and Quebec civil law at McGill University.
