Kathleen Butterfield (formerly Yoa) is engaged in a broad corporate/commercial, financial services and Asia Pacific practice which includes advising clients on a wide range of matters in order to meet their strategic, corporate and regulatory needs and objectives. Her experience includes acting for various public and private companies on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, corporate governance, regulatory matters and private financing arrangements.
Kathleen also advises foreign financial institutions on their entry into Canada, and counsels a variety of clients on a variety of regulatory compliance, licensing and corporate governance issues. Kathleen's clients include national and multinational corporations, and her practice has a particular emphasis on the financial services industry, where she advises regulated financial institutions including banks, insurance companies, cooperatives and credit unions, as well as unregulated financial services providers.
Kathleen summered and articled with the firm in 2002 and joined the firm as an associate in the Business Law Section in 2004.
