In December 1998, Peter Kiewit Sons Co., a subsidiary of Kiewit Corporation, began work on a C$209 million fixed lump-sum design-build project to construct the award-winning 185MW Keenleyside Hydroelectric Powerplant Projet, located 11 km northwest of Castlegar.
Fasken Martineau lawyers prepared process documents, RFPs, proposal competition agreements and design-build contracts, and related engineering and other contracts together with procurement, bonding and insurance advice.
The project was completed in 2002, 22 months ahead of schedule and within original budget.
