Laforest v. Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec
Represented the Caisse de Dépôt, an agency historically subject to the Access to Information Act, in a landmark case that decided whether the expenses of a public body official are subject to the demands of access to the documents of public organizations by the media or others. The breakthrough decision in the case strikes a balance between protecting the confidentiality and private life of an individual, and the right of the public to be informed.
