Laura West is a partner with Fasken Martineau. She is engaged in a general practice in the areas of wealth management, estate and family business succession planning, trusts, and charity and not-for-profit law. She advises clients with respect to wills, trusts and powers of attorney, corporate re-organizations, marriage and domestic contracts and estate administration, as well as the establishment, governance and regulation of charities and non-profit organizations.
Laura has lectured and written frequently on estate planning, charity and non-profit legal issues, including articles and presentations for the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Ontario Bar Association, the Canadian Bar Association, the Continuing Legal Education Society of British Columbia and others.
She was recognized by Best Lawyers in Canada in 2012 and is the co-recipient of a 2010 gold Zenith award recognizing pro bono work in the legal profession. She is a member of the executive of the Trusts and Estates section of the Ontario Bar Association.
