Karine Fournier is a member of our Labour, Employment and Human Rights practice group. She practises primarily in the areas of labour relations, employment law as well as occupational health and safety.

In the course of her practice, Karine has advised countless clients that operate in housekeeping, the retail industry and various manufacturing industries. In addition to advocating before the various courts, Karine lectures on such subjects as corporate fraud prevention and management, the use of social media in the workplace and psychological harassment investigations, allowing her to share the experience she has acquired in the course of the many investigations in which she has participated. She also advises numerous clients on their daily HR and labour relations management.

Karine has also developed particular expertise in defending the rights of non-smokers affected by second-hand tobacco smoke entering their home. She has advised and represented numerous parties who fear health risks or who have suffered actual prejudice from exposure to second-hand tobacco smoke in their residence. These clients include owners of rental properties, co-owners, syndicates and tenants. She has, among other things, given a conference and issued legal opinions on the subject and obtained the first injunction ever that prohibited a co-owner from smoking in his unit.
