Katie Clayton is a partner with the Commercial Litigation practice group. Katie has a complex litigation and dispute resolution practice with a particular emphasis on product liability and corporate/commercial disputes, including breach of contract, and negligence generally. Katie also has extensive experience in employment law matters including breach of confidence, unfair competition and wrongful dismissal. Katie also advises management on employment agreements, restrictive covenants, policies, occupational health and safety and workplace investigations. Katie's clients comprise a diverse group of national and multinational corporations.
Katie has been successful co-counsel on numerous trials and appeals, several of which are precedent setting decisions reported in national law reporters. Katie has appeared before the Provincial Court, Court of Queen's Bench and Court of Appeal, and has represented parties in administrative hearings before regulatory boards.
Katie is the Chair of the Calgary Chapter of the Professional Women's Network (PWN). Katie has also taught Trial Advocacy at the University of Calgary.
