He has acted extensively on behalf of both landlords and tenants in the negotiation and preparation of retail, industrial, office and ground leases.
Dan has significant experience in the area of real estate work-outs and restructuring. Dan has advised various financial institutions and receivers in real estate matters relating to reorganizations and mortgage remedy transactions.
Dan acts regularly on behalf of the largest operator of funeral homes and cemeteries in Canada.
Dan acts regularly on behalf of natural gas pipeline owners and operators.
He also has expertise in the development of wind farms.
Dan has considerable experience in the acquisition, development, financing and divestiture of hotel properties and has acted for Hilton Hotels Corporation and Hyatt Development Corporation. Dan acted on the acquisition of the Park Hyatt Hotel in Toronto. He also acted on behalf of Hilton Hotels Corporation in the disposition of Hilton Canada's assets.
Dan currently acts on behalf of one of the big six accounting firms, a national broadcaster, a leading national financial institution, a national retailer of photographic equipment and supplies and a major US retailer in the negotiation and preparation of leases throughout Canada.
