Overview

Christian Trépanier is a partner of the Commercial Litigation group in the Québec office. His practice focuses on the areas of class actions, civil and commercial litigation, penal law, administrative law as well as municipal law.

Christian represents varied clients, including publics organisations, municipalities, professionals, manufacturers, financial institutions, insurers and a number of private companies from industries such as forestry, alcohol sales and distribution, construction, etc.

In addition to appearing before all levels of courts, Christian also acts in arbitration and mediation matters. He successfully pleaded two cases before the Supreme Court of Canada, one on the civil liability of the Attorney General and a second one on the validity of certain hypothecs. He was recently named a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, a designation awarded only to the best litigators who have also demonstrated very highest standards of trial advocacy, ethical conduct, integrity, professionalism and collegiality.

Christian is always ready for a challenge and has acted in complex cases involving the notions of addiction and pathological gambling, fundamental freedoms in air transportation, the constitutionality of the Tobacco Act and residential schools.
