Tariq Ahmed is a member of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group. He joined as an associate after completing his articles at the firm. He represents clients in litigation before the courts, in arbitrations and mediations, as well as in administrative proceedings. He has assisted clients with matters before regulatory tribunals such as the British Columbia Utilities Commission, the Alberta Utilities Commission and the National Energy Board.
Tariq frequently advises energy and resource related clients in a variety of matters. He also assists clients in construction, creditor-debtor and general civil litigation matters.
Prior to his legal career, Tariq completed his electrical engineering degree through the University of Victoria’s co-op program. The program gave him hands-on experience working for the federal government, an established private engineering firm, a small “start-up” company and a non-profit organization. All of these experiences provided Tariq with a strong technical background and business-oriented approach to his law practice.
Tariq is also a convocation member of the University of British Columbia Vancouver Senate and a member of its Student Appeals on Academic Discipline standing committee.
