Hannah Roskey is an associate in the Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice group, which she joined following the completion of her articles in 2013. She has appeared before all levels of Court in Alberta.
Hannah’s practice encompasses a broad range of complex corporate/commercial disputes, with particular emphasis on labour, employment, and human rights matters. In that capacity she has advised both employers and employees in regard to wrongful and constructive dismissal claims, Employment Standards and Human Rights complaints, and Workers’ Compensation Board matters.
Another significant portion of Hannah’s practice involves assisting project applicants in regulatory proceedings, primarily in the fields of oil and gas and electricity. She recently completed a secondment to the regulatory department of a large Alberta electrical utility, which allowed her to work on all stages of project development, including drafting regulatory applications, coordinating engagement with First Nations and other stakeholders, liaising with experts in various disciplines, and assisting in appeals and review and variance proceedings.
Hannah is also a member of the firm’s Corporate Social Responsibility Law practice group, which advises corporations on strategies they may undertake to operate in an economically, socially, and environmentally sustainable manner, while still meeting practical business needs.
Prior to joining Fasken Martineau, Hannah was involved in several volunteer initiatives. Most recently, she worked with a legal aid organization in Accra, Ghana and organized workshops on health and social issues in Mombasa, Kenya. In recognition of her contribution to the local community, Hannah was awarded the Dean Michael Wylie Social Responsibility Award upon graduation from law school.
