Stefan is a graduate of the Faculty of Law at the University of Calgary. At law school, Stefan was awarded the Donnel O. Sabey, Q.C. Prize in Advocacy Law and selected to moot at the Donald G.H. Bowman National Tax Moot where his team won best overall. Stefan was also selected for the BLG Business Venture Clinic, where he provided start-up companies with pro bono legal information including non-disclosure, shareholder, and licensing agreements, as well as various legal memoranda. While at law school, Stefan volunteered with Student Legal Assistance, Pro Bono Students Canada, the Women’s Legal Education Action Fund and the Tax Court Assistance Program. Stefan was awarded the Student Legal Assistance Volunteer of the Year Award for his outstanding work and dedication to his clients.

Prior to law school, Stefan obtained an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Economics from McMaster University, where he was awarded the Dr. Harry Lyman Hooker and University Senate Scholarships. Stefan has worked as both a teaching and research assistant for the Department of Economics. In his role as research assistant he co-authored “Top-End Salaries and the Ontario Public Sector”, a paper published in the Canadian Public Administration Journal. During Stefan’s undergraduate studies, he also studied aviation and obtained his solo pilot’s license.

In addition to his responsibilities at Fasken Martineau, Stefan enjoys DJing, tennis, basketball and travelling. Stefan summered at Fasken Martineau in 2014 and joins the Firm as an articling student for 2016-2017.
