Leanne Gleeson is an associate and trade-mark agent working in the firm's Intellectual Property Group and Life Science Group in Toronto. Leanne is also a member of the firm's Life Science Group. Leanne joined Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP as an associate in 2006.

Leanne's practice involves the protection and commercialization of intellectual property, with a particular focus on health products and other life science innovation. Leanne provides counsel to clients on a variety of matters under the Canadian Food and Drugs Act and other health product legislation, and has extensive experience relating to the advertising and promotion of regulated products.

Leanne has experience in all aspects of litigation and mediation involving trade-marks, copyright, patents, domain names, and has appeared in proceedings before the Federal Court of Canada and the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. Leanne is involved with the coordination of anti-counterfeiting enforcement measures designed to protect trade-marks and copyrights of intellectual property rightsholders including voluntary surrenders and the employment of Anton Piller Orders in respect of famous marks, logos, names and designs.

Leanne regularly advises clients in respect of commercial transactions in which intellectual property assets are involved and provides advice on IP-related issues affecting corporate transactions, including conducting IP searches, performing due diligence advice with respect to the transfer of IP and preparing and filing IP licenses and assignments.

Leanne's practice as a trade-mark agent involves the clearance of trade-marks and providing trade-mark availability opinions, filing and prosecuting trade-mark applications, trade-mark oppositions and non-use expungement proceedings before the Canadian Registrar of Trade-marks.
