Luc Morin practices law in the fields of civil and commercial litigation, with a focus on bankruptcy, insolvency and corporate restructuring. As part of his practice, he is called upon to negotiate and, in cases of litigation, to plead in order to protect the rights of creditors and shareholders involved in the process of corporate restructuring. He has acquired a thorough understanding of the parameters determining directors' liability, especially in cases where companies are conducting business while insolvent or in financial distress; his master's thesis on this subject received an honours standing.
Honours and Awards
- His master's thesis "Le devoir fiduciaire d'agir dans le meilleur intérêt de la compagnie … insolvable : comment concilier les intérêts de l'actionnaire et du créancier ?", submitted in April 2007 to the Faculté des études supérieures de l'Université de Montréal for his master's degree in business law received an honours standing and is ranked in the top 15% of master's theses in all disciplines.
