Date

January 2003
Appeared as counsel on behalf of MacMillan Bloedel Ltd. in an action against the province claiming damages for breach of contract of approximately $200 million.  The action arose when the province passed legislation which required MacMillan Bloedel to pay stumpage rather than royalties on Timber Licences owned by MacMillan Bloedel.  The Province legislated the action out of existence a few months before the action was to proceed to trial.
