Martin R. Gagné specializes in business law, particularly in the fields of corporate and commercial law, real estate law, as well as corporate and project financing.
A large portion of his practice involves mergers and acquisitions, financings, joint ventures, restructurings as well as the negotiation and drafting of a wide variety of contracts and other legal documents in connection with the corporate, commercial, real estate and financial needs and activities of clients from various sectors including the natural resources sector, in particular mining, forestry and, more recently, oil and gas.
He has been involved in mandates relating to various stages of exploration and mine development projects in Québec and abroad as well as having participated in several files involving agreements with aboriginal people and their entities.
He has acquired considerable experience with property title issues, including in connection with the rights, permits and contracts granted by governmental authorities more specific to mining and other natural resources activities.
He has worked on a significant number of mandates on behalf of religious communities, their works and activities as well as other charitable and not-for-profit organizations, more specifically in connection with their corporate, commercial, real estate and transactional needs.
