Michel Héroux specializes in Labour and Employment law. His practice is currently focused on the areas of Workers' Compensation and Occupational Health and Safety. He has considerable experience in advising clients with respect to rate classifications and calculations, cost containment and claims management. His area of expertise also includes representation of employers before the various bodies created by legislation, including Arbitration Boards and the Commission des lésions professionnelles (Occupationnal Disease Commission).
Rated by the Canadian Legal LEXPERT Directory as a leading practioner is his area of expertise, Mr. Héroux pleads before the above-mentioned Offices and Commissions an average of one hundred and fifty cases a year, handling files which often raise complex legal and medical questions. He is a member of the Québec City Employer Committee, which is responsible for the management of the Work Health and Safety Commission file.
Mtre Héroux has also practiced labour law for over thirty years.
He regularly represents clients from the private and public sectors before specialized administrative tribunals (the Commission des relations du travail and grievance adjudicators) as well as before the superior courts.
Mtre Héroux regularly pleads before the courts in the context of grievance arbitration, particularly in disability matters and harassment or other complaints, as well as in the area of human rights.
