Movie Gallery Canada, Inc. restructuring proceedings

On May 7, 2010, Movie Gallery Canada, Inc. (the Canadian subsidiary of Movie Gallery, Inc. - formerly the second largest movie rental chain in the United States) filed a Notice of Intention to Make a Proposal pursuant to Section 50.4 of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act. A. Farber & Partners Inc. was appointed Trustee in the Proposal of Movie Gallery Canada.

The assets of Movie Gallery Canada were liquidated in a court-approved liquidation process and proceeds of the liquidation are to be distributed to the creditors of Movie Gallery Canada under the terms of a creditor and court approved Proposal. Fasken Martineau is counsel to Farber in these proceedings with a team that includes Stuart Brotman, Conor O'Neil and Graham Phoenix.
