Fasken Martineau's team of lawyers in Ottawa offers broad expertise in business law and litigation with particular knowledge of the communications, technology, mining and transportation industries. We are also actively engaged in related areas of practice such as copyright law, corporate finance, competition law, international trade law, constitutional and administrative law, food and drug regulation, official language rights, and access to information and privacy. As Ottawa is the heart of Canada’s federal government, we also offer an active practice in government relations, accountability and ethics law. Our local team’s experience with the law and policy processes of government and regulatory agencies is invaluable to many of our clients.
Our Ottawa office joined Fasken Martineau in 2007 in a merger with a top-rate communications, business and trade law firm in Ottawa. Today the growing Ottawa office is home to 20 lawyers—roughly half are ranked as leading practitioners by Chambers Global, Lexpert, Best Lawyers in Canada and other prestigious publications—and an efficient team of support staff.
We are just steps away from the Federal Court House and Parliament Hill in the downtown core. Our office is also a short walk to the Supreme Court of Canada and to many government offices and embassies.
